Kutani Choemon

I've watched this video countless times...
What a craftsmanship!!

"Kutani Choemon has been making tableware and tea ceremony utensils
for more than 130 years in Ishikawa, Japan.
Every piece they've made is carefully handmade and hand-painted
by experienced craftsmen.''

石川県にある九谷焼の上出長右衛門窯の製作風景です。
何回見ても飽きない…すごい技術。
日本ってすごい!

  1. Oh wow! Thanks for posting that. I love everything about the process of making pots. The precision and restraint she had when filling in tiny circles with paint was amazing. As a soapmaker I am always looking for inspiration and that was definitely inspiring!
