a presage

a presage
Slip-casted and tin glazed porcelain with digital transfer
    20cm (height) x 52cm (around)

This piece takes inspiration from traditional Chinese ceramics. The burst pot is a metaphor for the extremes within China: the rapid economic growth and expansion seemingly taking place with little consideration of the environmental and human consequences. The over-population is represented by the pot literally bursting under the pressure of growth.

This piece is now displayed at Plymouth city museum for 'Sinopticon' exhibition.
